The Norsemen

The "Norsemen" is a male chorus which is a member of the Pacific Coast Singers Association ( pcnsa.org ).  The PCNSA is an organization of choruses in the lower Pacific coast states, dedicated to the preservation, encouragement and enjoyment of traditional Norwegian male chorus singing in America.  Sonja Lodge proudly hosts the Norsemen for their rehearsals and their two annual concert dinners, Lapskaus (rich stew of beef, corned beef, pork, and potatoes)  and Torsk (poached cod).

The Norsemen sing at lodge events such as Syttende Mai (Norwegian Constitution Day), and the Leif Erikson dinner, in addition to  community appearances at senior residence facilities during the Christmas holidays, the Scandinavian Festival in Junction City.  The finale for the year is the annual PCNSA Sangerfest Grand Concert of the combined choruses of the PCNSA in the home city of the host chorus each June, 
The Norsemen rehearse every Monday evening taking a summer break during July and August.  They meet at the Sons of Norway Sonja Lodge from 7:00 until 8:30, beginning the week after Labor Day.

New singers are always welcome. There are no auditions, just a desire to sing. The songs selected are generally of Norwegian origin with other Scandinavian and English tunes for variety.  Our rehearsals are open to anyone at all times as visitors are always welcome at the lodge and with the Norsemen.
